Honeymoon
After staying in Idaho Falls the night we were married we drove to Salt Lake City to spend a night there before we caught our plane to Tampa, Florida. We had a great night, walking on Temple Square and looking at the lights and then going to Olive Garden for dinner.
Christmas Eve we flew to Tampa. That night John got up and set up our little tree and got out the presents that he had secretly brought with him. It was fun to have our own little First Christmas. We were there for four days and the first two days it rained most of the time so we didn’t get to do much. The last two were nice though and so we spent each day at a different beach. The first beach we went to was Treasure Island Beach. John tried to fly the kite we got for Christmas there but it didn’t quite work. However the next day when we went to Honeymoon Island State Park he successfully got it to fly. When we looked at the map and saw Honeymoon Island State Park we just had to go. It was fun to be able to relax on the beach and go for walks….just like a fairy tale.
We loved taking a cruise…we’ve decided it’s the perfect Honeymoon! It was great to have a hotel room that traveled with you as well as all-you-can-eat all day long. It was great. The following are pictures of us before we left Tampa, our first dinner, our Honeymoon cake, New Year’s Celebrations, and our last night at dinner, with our drink waiter, Maggie, and our waiter Rosebud and assistant waiter Aston.
Our first stop was Grand Cayman. It was FANTASTIC! We went to Sting Ray City to swim with the sting rays…..very exciting…it was a big frightening for Amber at first but with help from John she was able to get over that and they both had fun petting and feeding the stingrays. When our time was up with the sting rays we where able to get on the boat and go a little bit further and go snorkeling where we saw a shark and even got to touch it. (so it was only 5 feet long but still it was pretty cool) After that we went to the famous, Seven Mile Beach, and enjoyed time relaxing in the warm water and white sand.
We didn’t get to spend as much time in Costa Rica as we wanted. The ship ended up turning around because of a sick passenger so our stop there was cut short. So instead of doing our shore excursion…because it wasn’t offered anymore…we did the tourist thing and walked around the port town. It was actually good to do that because it was slower paced and John got to practice his Spanish.
We were able to go to the Panama Canal. It was really interesting and amazing to see how they get those big ships through the locks. It was crazy to hear that they only allow 2 inches of space on both sides, and it was even crazier to see it! We also got to spend some time at a little island that still has some natives on it. It was interesting to see how they live and to learn about their culture.
Our second to last stop was Roatan, Honduras. It was a beautiful place! Not only did we swim with dolphins…yes it was amazing!! we also got to spend time on the best beach ever! Amber decided that if any place she’d love to come back here and spend a couple of days enjoying the beauty of this small island.

Cozumel was our last stop, and actually we ended up taking a type of boat taxi thing in order to get to the main land and we went and visit the ancient city of Tulum. It was really interesting to actually be looking at ancient ruins.
